Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh fenomena musik korea yang sangat
populer. selain musik yang bagus juga didukung dengan video klip yang menarik
sebagai pelengkap dari lagu tersebut, salah satu video klip yang menarik untuk
diteliti adalah video klip MAMA dari EXO selain menarik dari segi konsep, video
klip ini juga menarik karena simbol-simbol yang muncul dalam video klip yang
merepresentasikan simbol-simbol illuminati. Maka dari itu tujuan penelitian ini
Untuk mengetahui representasi simbol-simbol illuminati dalam video klip EXO
“MAMA” melalui icon, indeks, symbol dan melalui semantik, sintaktik dan
pragmatik menggunakan teori Charles Sander Pierce.
Penelitian ini menggunakan Pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan
metode analisis Semiotika yang mengarah pada teori Semiotika Charles Sander
Pierce dan paradigma kritis. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara
studi dokumentasi, studi kepustakaan dan wawancara.
Hasil dari penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pada video klip EXO yang
berjudul MAMA dilihat dari Semiotika Charles Sander Pierce mengacu pada non
verbal dan verbal, adanya lirik yang mengacu pada illuminati dan simbol-simbol
yang merepresentasikan illuminati seperti simbol yang digunakan pada setiap
personil sebagai identitas simbol masing-masing dan juga simbol yang muncul
pada video klip seperti segitiga, mata satu Horus, heksagram pohon kehidupan,
formasi segitiga.
This research supported by phenomenon of Korean Music were very
